Morality written on the arm.

Sitting in this place, this time, this reflection. Looking into the ink that was chosen. It becomes clear and concise on the past effecting the present. The image and meaning were chosen from a sense of loathing, hatred and utter despite. The now calls a new meaning upon that image and its perceived personality and direction it shows. Forewarning message for morality and sense of duty towards that which is believed to be just. Frameworks of ethics are still only a vague impression from the ideological memes of contact. Does the meaningful Godish guideline image have any precedence on the soul?

I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this post, especially your unique view on the matter of chosen images, that which has implied significance for your subconscious - an image powerful enough to be engraved forever into your skin. I find that fascinating, this practice which has been passed down for almost as long as this species has been in existence. Why are we, as a people, as individuals, drawn by some images or figures, or ideas...while the rest wash away like grey stones on the shore? The concept on individuality, and its connotations, is a product of our "modern" reality, at least in the "developed" world. Branding has become something companies do without thinking, and we as consumers do to ourselves. Westerners are guilty of gobbling up images at lightning speed, which makes the lines and shapes which we tattoo even more significant...The artist in me cannot help but believe that images choose us, as corny or new age as that may sound. It's a subconscious phenomena which occurs in relation to the perception we have of ourselves...who are are, what we stand for, where we are going. I cannot see this ancient practice disappearing any time soon, and I really hope it doesn't, because at this point in the development of human collective subconscious, as numbed as it is for most, we are forever and intimately connected to the physical realm of nature.

Then again, you probably already know that.
